Senior Youth Worker - Arts Coordinator

Hours: 40 hrs a week (Flexible working pattern which will include some evenings and weekends)
Salary: £27,823 p.a.
Location: The Way Youth Zone, School Street, Wolverhampton WV3 0NR

The Arts Senior Youth Worker inspires young people to explore their creativity through performing arts, music, and visual arts. They design exciting and inclusive sessions that encourage self-expression, build confidence, and develop artistic skills. Through workshops, performances, and hands-on projects, they help young people discover their passions, refine their talents, and gain a deeper appreciation for the arts. By creating a supportive and dynamic environment, they empower young people to showcase their creativity and explore potential pathways in the creative industries.

This role involves leading dynamic sessions, building positive relationships, and delivering high-quality youth work that aligns with the OnSide Network Agreement and the UK youth work curriculum. In addition to directly supporting young people, Senior Youth Workers will provide leadership to the team, including approving staff holidays, conducting one-to-one meetings, and nurturing the development of youth workers to help them reach their full potential.

Head of Business Operations and People

Hours: Permanent, Full-time (40 hours/week)
Salary: £37,913 (starting salary) to £41,186 (dependent on experience)
Location: School Street, Wolverhampton WV3 0NR

We are seeking a strategic, organised, and people-centred leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Head of Operations & People—a critical role that ensures the smooth and effective running of our Youth Zone’s core infrastructure.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the operational backbone of The Way, including facilities management, catering services, reception,
volunteering, and data systems. You’ll also play a key role in shaping and delivering our people strategy,
working closely with our external HR business partners to support staff wellbeing, development, and compliance.

Volunteer Coordinator

Hours: 30hrs a week
Salary: £ 28,339 (pro rata) £21,254 (actual)
Location: School Street, Wolverhampton WV3 0NR

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and organised Volunteer Coordinator to lead volunteer recruitment and engagement across our Youth Zone. You’ll develop a strategy to involve the local community in a range of roles, working closely with teams like fundraising and corporate partnerships to identify impactful opportunities. This role also ensures safe recruitment, effective onboarding, and training, while maintaining accurate records and tracking volunteer impact.

Enterprise and Employability Coordinator

Hours: Full time 40 hours per week (flexible working required; although the centre is open until 9pm, your working hours will be arranged to overlap with evening sessions as needed to deliver workshops for young people. Typical shifts may include 10am–6pm or 11am–7pm. Occasional weekend work may also be required.)
Salary: £30,679 p.a.
Location: School Street, Wolverhampton WV3 0NR

To take a lead responsibility for the delivery of NIS Group and The Way Youth Zone’s Enterprise and Employability offer, ensuring all young people have access to exciting enterprise projects and the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge to improve their employability. The post will deliver “The Way 2 Work” in partnership with NIS Group, the main sponsor of the programme. The post also involves the delivery of a targeted programme to support young people not currently in education, employment or training into positive destinations.

Legal Trustee (Voluntary)

Hours: 6 Board meetings a year c2 hours each (and preparation), including one Away Day. All meetings are held at the Youth Zone.
Salary: Voluntary

As a Youth Zone Legal Trustee, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Board to ensure that the charity operates within the legal frameworks and complies with all relevant laws and regulations. You will utilise your legal expertise to aid all Trustees in providing legal oversight of the charity, ensuring that the charity’s activities align with its governing documents and legal obligations.

HR/People Trustee (Voluntary)

Hours: 6 Board meetings a year c2 hours each (and preparation), including one Away Day. All meetings are held at the Youth Zone.
Salary: Voluntary

We’re looking for a Trustee that has experience of HR/employment law issues and implementing them contextually. As our HR expert, you will ensure that HR/People activities and interventions are linked to The Way’s charitable objectives and strategic objectives, and to champion and support the Youth Zone’s diversity goals within HR processes.

Fundraising Trustee (Voluntary)

Hours: 6 Board meetings a year c2 hours each (and preparation), including one Away Day. All meetings are held at the Youth Zone.
Salary: Voluntary

We’re looking for an individual who is or has recently held a Director of Fundraising/Director of Fundraising & Communications role(s) within a large or medium sized charity. As a Trustee with Fundraising governance oversight, you will provide strategic level support to our Head of Fundraising & Comms and their team, and to the CEO and fellow Board members.
